Self-Inflicted Violence: Written In The Scars

Please Feel Free To Copy This Graphic, But Please Link It Back To This Page. Thanks ~ Wen

The Purpose Of This Section:

With this section of the BIBRI website, I hope to help facilitate a greater understanding of Self-Injury. Those who are engaged in such behaviors are NOT crazy. They are merely living with, or overcoming, another chosen survival mechanism. Again, I ask you to read this section with an open mind. Shame, Blame, and Guilt have NO place here.

CAUTION: This site is for educational purposes only. It is not intended to be used for diagnosis or therapy. If you are struggling with Self-Injury, I encourage you to read with caution. Some sections may be triggering. I also strongly encourage you to find someone who understands who can help you find different ways of living with your emotions. YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO HURT. If you are a loved one or a friend of someone struggling with Self-Injury, I encourage you too to find support. Lastly, if you are a teen-ager or child who is confused about this issue, or who may need some help in understanding the material presented here, I ask you to view this site with a trusted parent, teacher, or older friend. As always, feedback is appreciated. This is YOUR site! If you have links, articles, poetry or prose that you would like to see added, please e-mail me. Thanks. In peace and healing ~ Wen

Alternatives To Self-Inflicted Behaviors: The goal of this list is to find something healthy, that will prevent you from actively pursuing self-injury, allowing the urge to ease and/or pass.

Reality VS Mythology: The Truth Revealed

In my words:  "carving" :   CAUTION:  This poem was written to express one nights battle with the demons that encouraged me to self-injury.  It is meant as an inside point of view, and may be triggering.  Please read with caution.
